The Vanities

A vanity is an allegorical representation of death, the passing of time, the emptiness of human passions and activities.

An allegorical family

Here the father is the Power, he already has a foot in the grave, worn down by the weight of his crown and his responsibilities.
The mother is the Authority, a little younger than her husband, yet she has her face marked by the severity of her daily attitude.
The teenager girl, in full crisis, is the Anarchy.
And the little boy son is the Rebellion, with his pout that says no!
